# Game Modes

A room runs one mode, and Original is the default.

Beta modes are playable but still changing.

## Word Games

| Mode | What happens |
| --- | --- |
| Original | Guess any word that contains the given letters. |
| Chain Word | Your prompt is a piece of the word the previous player typed, so you type a word that contains it. Settings can change which piece you get. |
| Letter Link | Link the letters on the grid to form words. First to reach the target score wins! |
| Typing Race | Race against others by typing the given words as fast as you can! |
| Dungeon | Descend an endless haunted dungeon together. Every word is a strike: words that fit several monsters' runes hit them all. Vote on doors, crack open chests, survive the floor bosses. |
| Paw Finders | Two teams, Dogs and Cats. Each team's leader gives a clue word and a number, and teammates tap the word cards that match it. Find all your team's cards first, but never tap the bomb. |
| Wokey (beta) | A draw and discard tile race where you take your left neighbour's discard or pull from the pile, then drop one tile, until your whole rack splits into valid words and you go out first. |

## Party Modes

| Mode | What happens |

| Color Guesser | Memorize the color, then pick it from memory! The closest guess wins the round. First to 6 wins! |
| Sketch | One player draws the secret word while everyone races to guess it in chat. Faster guesses score more. Most points after all rounds wins! |
| Trivia | A live quiz on player made questions. Everyone answers the same question at once and the fastest correct answer scores the most. No hearts, keep trying until the timer runs out. Most points after 30 questions wins! |
| Map | Name the country on the globe before anyone else. The fastest correct answers score the most! |
| Defuser | Follow the prompt each turn: click, don't click, do math, remember numbers, match other players. Wrong answers cost a heart. |
| Chess | A proper two player chess match with full rules, premoves, move history and clocks. Only two players sit at the board, everyone else watches. Checkmate, flag the clock, or force a draw to win. |

## Event Game Modes

These only come on for events.

| Mode | What happens |
| --- | --- |
| Dead or Alive | Cowboy beans face off in 1v1 standoffs on a dusty main street. When the call comes, type a word with the prompt first to shoot! Lose all your hearts and you're out. Last one standing wins! |
| Lava Rising | Type a word containing the next floor's syllable to stay ahead of the lava and climb to the top! |
| Word Race | Type the word stream as fast as you can and your car climbs the mountain road at your typing speed! Typos slow you down, so fix them quick and stay ahead of the rolling boulder all the way to the summit! |
